Successful Conclusion of First Summer Hobby Camp at Regional Science City, Lucknow

Lucknow — The first-ever Summer Hobby Camp organized by the Regional Science City, Lucknow concluded successfully. The event saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 70 students across various schools in Lucknow, who showcased their creativity by building a wide array of scientific models.

The week-long camp featured eight diverse topics designed for both students and homemakers, including Creative Art & Craft, Wonders of Biology, Making Science Toys, Electronics Experiments, Astronomy Workshop, and Know Your Home Appliances, among others. Participants actively engaged in crafting innovative science projects and models such as DNA structures, lung models, pneumatic brakes, and telescopes.

Parents and students alike praised the initiative, calling it an excellent platform for students to express their creativity beyond the conventional classroom setup. They emphasized how the camp not only supported curriculum-based learning but also sparked scientific curiosity and hands-on exploration.

Speaking on the occasion, Project Coordinator Swarup Mandal said, “The main objective of this hobby camp is to provide a platform where students can hone their skills and develop scientific projects in new ways. This helps them understand scientific concepts better and encourages them to create similar models at home.”

 Mandal noted the enthusiasm and eagerness to learn displayed by all participants from day one. He added that such camps are instrumental in promoting a better understanding of science and technology among children, while also ensuring the productive use of their summer holidays.

Following the success of this camp, Regional Science City, Lucknow is now gearing up for its second and third hobby camps scheduled from May 27 to 31, 2025, and June 3 to 9, 2025, respectively. A few seats are still available.
